We are real people with a real interest in Multiple Use Trails for everyone's benefit.
CTUC was created for the opportunity to work with all trail-users in our National Forests

The California Trail Users Coalition is a non-profit corporation designed to help all interested parties participate in a beneficial forum. Our mission statement is as follows:

“To provide a forum for all trail users to discuss related issues, problems and alternative solutions; to assist in the planning, development, maintenance and hosting of trails; and to help enforce the rules of the road; and to develop and maintain programs designed to educate users on proper use of trails and trail etiquette.”

Opportunities for different user groups to use different trails are dwindling. As a result, we must share our public lands if we plan to continue enjoying them.

We will all win in the long run if we will give a little rather than fighting over recreation resources. The conflicts from the past have been unproductive. We must devote our energy to the development of new trails. We must focus our efforts on the future of recreation. You can help us make a difference by becoming a member of the California Trail Users Coalition.

At its next meeting on Wednesday, January 18, at 5:00 pm, California Trail Users Coalition will discuss in detail its plans and those of the Angeles National Forest for the 2012 California OHV grants cycle. This will be an opportunity for the public to provide input regarding projects they would like to see CTUC, Los Angeles County and the Angeles National Forest pursue under their OHV grants programs.

Therefore, it is especially important for CTUC members and those of the public to attend this month's meeting. Please come with your ideas and share them with us. The meeting will be held at 3550 Foothill Boulevard in Glendale, California.

The annual OHV grant applications are a key part of the partnership between the CTUC and the State of California, which issues grants to a variety of entities to improve OHV recreation. This year, approximately $20 million is available for allocation.

Support Multiple Use
California Trail Users Coalition believes strongly in true multiple use and the benefits therein. As backpackers, hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, motorcyclists, A.T.V. users, off-roaders, cross country skiers, four wheel drivers, snowmobilers, etc. We are all interested in the same thing. We all want multiple opportunities to practice our own personal interests. We all share the responsibility to maintain trails for the use of current and future generations. Working together we possess much more strength and potential.

Support Education
CTUC is always working to aid in the education of all trail users. We all need to remember the "rules of the road" as we travel the back-country. We help create and distribute flyers that promote ecological use of public lands, proper etiquette on the trails, trail courtesy recommendations, safe means of multiple use, treading lightly, etc.
CTUC is committed to education and will do all it can make sure we are all aware of the importance of multiple use.
Your support of the CTUC is crucial.

Support Your Public Lands
Our public land managers are facing many challenges and they need our help. They have the awesome job of trying to allocate land and resources to meet the needs of all residents and visitors. Managers are striving to maintain user safety and protect natural resources. The whole time they must provide high-quality user experiences. This inevitably leads to conflicts. They need us to help create a Win-Win situation by seeing the big picture and considering the other person's point of view. The need to know where opportunities exist and what it takes for a recreational experience to be an exceptional one.

Support the CTUC
With your membership, CTUC will be able to ensure open lines of communication between user groups, public land managers, private land owners and other groups interested in recreational opportunities. You assistance today will guarantee your opportunities tomorrow. Please see the next side to information on joining the CTUC. All tax deductible memberships come with a subscription to our newsletter, a pair of stickers for your vehicles, a membership card and the opportunity to participate in all of the events. Members are also welcome at our corporate meetings.
We meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 3550 Foothill Blvd., Glendale, CA.
